"Yuugi. I have to. You know the rules. You won the duel, and now I must go." The taller boy's fingers were slipping away from mine.

"YAMI-" His stoic expression softened, as he pulled away, his dark blue jacket flapping in the nonexistent breeze. The dark blue softened in color, as he approached the blinding white light. "Yami…" a single tear trickled down my cheek. His booted feet paused on the threshold as he tipped his head away from the light. Was he hesitating? I rushed up after him, begging him to stay. A slight smile touched his lips, and his thumb protruded from his hand; our old signal. Then, he was gone.

Yugi sighed as he stared up at the stars through the skylight above his bed. It was his 17th birthday today, and he had just gotten done with a huge surprise party, (which really wasn't all that much of a surprise) that his Grandpa threw for him. They had ate cake, opened presents, played games, and best of all, all his friends were there.

So one hectic afternoon, when the two of them were on break from the rush created by Kaiba's debut of yet another invention, he practically tore the magazine out of his yami's hands and sat himself on his lap.

As he was busy situating himself to become more comfortable, his other made a startled noise and grabbed his hands, yanking his attention away and back toward the person he was unabashedly sitting on.
